We often
receive referrals of animals needing emergency medical attention. The procedures
can be costly and often require the help of medical specialists.
Otis was just skin and bones when he was found and brought to the Humane
Society. Kindred Souls Foundation was asked to take this very special case that
involved extensive medical tests, neurological and behavioral consults, and an
enormous amount of time for hour-to-hour observations. Otis lacks the drive to
drink water and therefore must have his water intake monitored daily. A simple
trick of adding a few kibbles to his water bowl ensures he gets the correct
amount of water! After months of intense dedication, Otis is now medically
stable, but will require a family who is willing to invest a lifetime of medical
monitoring and on-going training.
We need a foster or adoptive home who can now take over the next phase of
treatment- behavioral training! Now that Otis is healthy he needs to learn the
social skills required to manage in the everyday world. We need a committed
person who can invest the time to work with Otis and help him continue his path
to a successful life.
Email us if you are that person!
Your donation allows us to save animals like Otis and provide to them the medical care they need!
Holistic Care
We use a holistic approach to the animals’ care
that addresses all interdependent parts (physical, mental, emotional, and
spiritual) of his/her being. Read more about our approach…
